International Certificate in Logistics and Transport


1. Passenger Transport Operations

This course identifies how transport has become an integrated part of society and in many respects essential to the functioning of modern society. Natural disaster events and strike incidents have demonstrated that disruption to transportation systems has immediate and long-lasting effects within supply chains.

2. Freight Transport Operations

This course covers all the major modes of transport used to move goods, as standalone operations and as part of modern supply chains. Among other things the course will cover economic, cultural, political, ethical and environmental issues and how freight transport acts to sustain modern trade and business through effective planning, control and management. This course will address the global and local issues around freight transport operations.

3. Port Operations

This course covers the various types and functions of ports and terminals, as well as their management, operation and maintenance. It includes global, international and national freight movements; types of goods and vessels; passenger considerations; port and area controls; physical and human resource requirements; consignments; unitisation and consignment monitoring.

International Diploma in Logistics and Transport


1. Management in Logistics and Transport

This course covers the fundamental management knowledge required of managers in the logistics and transport industry. It covers aspects of the internal and external structures of an organisation, the governance of people within the organisation and those financial and other planning techniques necessary to maintain organisational health. It aims to deliver understanding and competence of those key elements of management practice that are fundamental to both commercial and non-commercial organisations.

2. Transport Operations

This course covers the basis for professionals in the transport industry to understand the principles of effective, safe and legal movement of goods and people through the principal modes in a national and international context. The course covers the nature of transport to develop an appreciation of its supply and demand characteristics and the different ways in which the transport product can be delivered effectively and efficiently.

3. Transport Planning

This course provides the foundation of knowledge on the concepts and principles that govern the process of transport planning. The course helps to investigate the nature and purpose of transport planning, the interactions between transport and land use and the process of transport planning.

4. Retail Logistics

This course provides the foundation of knowledge on the concepts and principles that govern the process of supply chain management to retailing. This course will focus on local, regional and global retail logistics best practices among other things.
